Hillsborough School Board is supposed to begin the process of redistricting this Tuesday, but Republicans are trying to derail the process in an effort to maintain the maps they gerrymandered a decade ago. The Republicans are trying to push back redistricting to 2023 so they can get in one more election with their rigged maps.
The Republicans are so desperate to achieve this that they’re willing to expose our school district to lawsuits and cost it hundreds of thousands of dollars. This lawsuit would be because the disparity in populations across the districts is twice what the Supreme Court ruled was constitutional.
Email the school board members and show up to the school board meeting this Tuesday at 9:00 to demand that the board members honor their constitutional responsibilities and go through with redistricting before the end of the year.
