Kelly Smith

A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, Kelly moved to Florida in 1996. She began her career in municipal government, serving as the FEMA Coordinator for the City of Naples and Collier County and also as the Zoning Administrator for the City of Marco Island. For the last 10 years Kelly has been an operations coordinator with Atkins, an international transportation engineering firm based in Tampa. Kelly lives in Wesley Chapel with her husband, Patrick, and their three teenage children.

Kelly has a long history of community involvement. Locally Kelly has volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem, photographer with the Heart Gallery of Pinellas & Pasco, and currently serves as a volunteer and on the Board of Directors for Messengers of Hope Mission. As an adoptive parent and former foster parent, Kelly has extensive experience advocating for children and helping other foster and adoptive families navigate community resources. She has also served as a special education advocate. Kelly is involved with the Pasco Democratic Party, including as a member of the Democratic Executive Committee and is currently on a leave of absence from her position as Vice Chair.
